This is not the kind of blog that I would usually post and is not going to be a regular thing, but August has been a quite a busy month for me; I went to Spain for a while and have just returned from a mission trip in Romania, this has meant finding the time to bake has been quite difficult. So I thought for August's blog I would experiment with a new page that I have been thinking about creating for a while. This page I have named 'marfaloveslife', it's not going to be a page that I post regularly on but will have the occasional post which will consist of various topics other than baking. For this blog the topic will be Travel and I will share a short summary of my trip to Denia, Spain. Hope you enjoy...

This is a photo of the main high street in Denia. The best time to visit is after 8:00, the town comes alive when the sun goes down, the atmosphere is buzzing and vibrant. The street is crawling with fantastic restaurants and ice cream bars so is perfect for a foodie or an avid baker looking for inspiration.
Another place well worth a visit if you are in the Costa Blanca region of Spain, is Denia castle. Not only is this a great Historical site, but once inside you can see fantastic view of the whole of Denia; the town, sea and mountains. Entrance to the castle is inexpensive making this a must see.
Denia has a fantastic Marina full of big yachts and various other boats, the Marina is surrounded by restaurants, bars and cafe's that are perfect for an evening of fine dinning. The beach is another great aspect of Denia. The sea is beautifully clear and perfect for cooling down, in the hot Spanish heat.
All in all, Denia is a great place for a break and I would recommend it as a place to go if you are looking to experience Spanish culture without being in a place that is too touristy or too isolated.
